Board, Committee and Team Vacancies
The Town of Thessalon requires members to serve on the following Boards and Committees. If you are interested, please complete the attached application and submit by e-mail or mail to the Municipal Office.
Thessalon Town and Township Cemetery Board
- Meets 4 times a year/quarterly
- Board oversees the maintenance/management of the Little Rapids, Forest Lawn, Pine Grove and Maple Ridge Cemeteries
Municipal Economic Development Committee
The MECD’s mandate is to recommend to Council strategies to enhance Economic /Community Development and growth.
Primary Focus:
• Promote Thessalon in order to attract visitors/tourists
• Promote Business retention and growth
• Promote/enhance the appeal of Thessalon as a desirable place to live and work.
Community Events & Activities Committee
- Working with the Recreational Coordinator and Council to plan, promote and implement recreational/leisure programming for all ages within the Town of Thessalon
- Past community events/programming include: car shows, minor baseball, minor soccer, Community Day weekend events, contests, fishing derby, etc.
Marina/Arena/Parks Committee
- Meets monthly to discuss, plan and make recommendations to Council regarding the operations of the Thessalon Marina, the Thessalon Memorial Arena and all Thessalon Parks including Lakeside Park Campground
Thessalon Library Board
- Meets to plan and discuss the operations of the Thessalon Public Library
