Thessalon Coastal Trail Project
Come visit the newly opened Thessalon Coastal Trail located on Peachey Street in Thessalon Ontario.
Thessalon Coastal Trail offers something for everyone. For the hardy, seasoned hiker the entire wilderness trail will give you the workout you are looking for. Just out for a short walk in your running shoes, pick from several loops to hike. The Thessalon Coastal Trail also includes accessible trail options for users to walk, wheel or push strollers.
Birders can observe various waterbirds as the trail passes the lagoon. Boat enthusiasts you can relax on the accessible lookout in the red chairs to watch ships come into Smelter Bay from the accessible lookout. An accessible floating walkway takes you out to the North Channel Lookout for a hidden view of Lake Huron.

Stewart Highlands
The Stewart Highlands Trails are located on the North Side of Highway 17 adjacent to the Town of Thessalon. The Trails entrance is located at Fire Marker 12706 off of Highway 17, opposite of McPhee Road.
The ski trails are groomed for Classic Ski. Other activities such as hiking, snowshoeing, and biking are welcome on the trails however we ask these users to stay off the ski tracks.
The ski trails would not be possible without the generosity of the property owners who allow the trails to cross their properties. These trails are operated by the Town of Thessalon’s Recreational Trails Team and maintained by many volunteers.
