Appointment of New Mayor and New Deputy Mayor

A special Council meeting was held today, during which the Council appointed Jordan Bird as the new Mayor and Tracey Cooke as the new Deputy Mayor.

Mayor Bird has served on Council for 11 years, including 7 years as Deputy Mayor. Deputy Mayor Cooke, who has been a Councillor for the Town of Thessalon for the past 7 years, will now step into the Deputy Mayor role.

Congratulations to both! We are confident that their leadership will continue to guide and serve our community well.
