Mayor Rosenberg and Councillor Cooke were thrilled to meet with Health Minister Jones earlier today and celebrate the announcement of the Huron Shores Family Health Team expansion! The expansion will incorporate Thessalon, Bruce Mines and Richards Landing as part of the team and will provide critical supports for primary medical care in our communities.
This investment will improve interprofessional primary care by adding positions for nurse practitioners, registered nurses, registered practical nurses and social workers to help provide home care, health education and other health care services.
This is an important step towards attracting and retaining physicians in our community. Many thanks to our partners at the Family Health Team and North Shore Health Network as well as the many community leaders who have put so much effort into this critical work.
