Planning Advisory Committee
The Planning Advisory Committee meets on the second Monday of the month to review and discuss the ongoing development of our Town. The committee aims to be progressive in the development of the Town of Thessalon with the intention to grow and sustain the communities assets.
Incoming inquires and applications are reviewed by the Committee to ensure that requests coincide with the Town's Official Plan and Zoning By-law as well as, meeting the criteria of provincial and municipal legislation.
The Town of Thessalon's Official Plan update was completed in the spring of 2020 and the Committee is currently in the process of a comprehensive Zoning By-law update.
Building Permit Applications are available at the link below or you can pick up a hard copy at the Municipal Office. Please submit your completed application to the office. Costs of building permits are set by our building inspector based on the size and value of construction.

A ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT HAS BEEN PROPOSED BY THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF THESSALON UNDER SECTION 34 OF THE PLANNING ACT
AND TAKE NOTICE THAT THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE APPLICATION IS TO UPDATE ZONE REGULATIONS FOR THE LANDS DESCRIBED LEGALLY AS PLAN 1M-531 LOTS 1 – 33 AND PLAN 1M-533 LOTS 1 – 20 LOCALLY KNOWN AS THE LIGHHOUSE POINT SUBDIVISION (PHASE 1 AND PHASE 2)
A PUBLIC MEETING WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY JULY 8TH, 2021 AT 6:00 PM IN THE W.J. BARRETT CHAMBERS, TOWN OF THESSALON MUNICIPAL OFFICE, 187 MAIN STREET, THESSALON.
