NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL

FOR THE OFFICIAL PLAN REVIEW FOR THE TOWN OF THESSALON
TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of the Town of Thessalon will be holding a Special
Meeting of Council pursuant to Subsection 26 (3) of the Planning Act, R.S.O 1990, c.P.13,
as amended, to formally initiate the process to review and update the Official Plan for the
Town of Thessalon and discuss the revisions that may be required to the Official Plan.

Time: 6:00 pm – Presentation begins at 6:00 pm followed by a Question & Answer
session
Location: In-person in the W.J. Barrett Chambers, Town Office – 187 Main Street

PURPOSE
The Town of Thessalon Official Plan was adopted by Council on June 15, 2020, and approved
by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing on November 5, 2020. Subsection 26 (1.1)
of the Planning Act, R.S.O 1990, c.P.13, as amended, requires municipalities to revise their
official plan every five years, unless the plan has been replaced by another new official plan.
Before revising an official plan, a Special Meeting of Council, open to the public, shall be held
to discuss the revisions that may be required to the plan.
The purpose of this Special Meeting of Council is to discuss the revisions that may be required
to the Official Plan for the Town of Thessalon in accordance with Subsection 26 (3) of the
Planning Act, R.S.O 1990, c.P.13, as amended.
