North Subdivision Development Class Environmental Assessment Study
The Study
The Town of Thessalon has initiated a Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to identify and evaluate alternatives for the development of the north subdivision, located on the northside of Highway 17 east of Government Rd. The development site is a former agricultural field area. The project intention is to extend the Town’s existing water and sewer services across Highway 17, via directional drilling in 2025. The project also includes the construction of water, wastewater, storm sewer, roadway and entrances and the development of forty-two (42) residential lots.

The Process
The project is being planned under Schedule B of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process and a key component of the study is consultation with interested stakeholders (public and review agencies).

To facilitate this, a Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held:

Consultants will be available to discuss the north subdivision development, review the alternate solutions, and receive input from the public and regulatory agencies.

The public is invited on a come and go basis anytime between 4:30p.m. and 6:30p.m. to visit and provide input or to have questions answered.

Upon completion of the studies, a Project File will be prepared and made available for additional public review and comment.
